Alexander Wang Fall Winter 2018

New Year, new Fashion Week, new trends.

New York Fashion Week has begun, there’s no one better than Alexander Wang to introduce us what will be the next “It” thing on the market.

Four Times Square, Condé Nast’s old headquarters where Alexander’s first start in fashion happened as an intern at Teen Vogue and Vogue, was the site of Alexander Wang’s Fall show. The 21st floor was hung with signage that read “AWG: Serving the Industry Since 2004”, and cubicle walls were arranged on either side of the runway.
For the next season, Wang’s forecast is : black, white, grey and banana clip! Yes, ’90s are happening again and here’s Alexander’s contribution. His creations included lots of leather, short skirts, tight pants and very very sexy bodycon dresses. Alexander decides to follow the female figure and cover it with black. While playing with buttons and zippers he reinvented the little black dress for all those modern Audrey Hepburns.

While some will say that his designs lack everything, I say his designs are the right amount of everything. The “problem” with his clothes, is that they are too urban. Not everyone can look cool wearing Martix shades and an all black ensemble.

There’s no one who’s more New York than Alexander. His work is an embodiement of The Big Apple’s five boroughs, the lives that people lead there, and the style they choose to represent them. The city shaped Wang and now Wang shapes the city.
